Day 4 in Kona (For photos of Day 4 in Kona click here)

We started the day with a swim. We swam almost to the Royal Kona Resort but stopped on the way for an espresso at the espresso bar. They had an catemaran with coffee out on the water. We stopped again on the way back and came out of the water after 45 min of a lovely swim. The whole BRAT team was there: Mim and Lawrence, Tauny and Debbie, Nick and I. Jo went for a 13k run, the longest she has done for a while!

After the swim we quickly changed and registered for the race. We got our race numbers, transition bags etc etc. I also picked up VIP packages for Jo and me and then we walked over to Lave Java for breakfast. There we had a lovely granola breakfast served in in Guave.

The afternoon was a pretty quiet one. At 3:30 when it was pretty hot Tauny, Debbie and I went out for a run. My legs were feeling good and I ran reasonably good splits on this run. So it seems that I have acclimatised well to the hot conditions.

After the run everyone gathered in the car park of our hotel for the start of the Parade of Nations. Chris from Tri UK had organised T-shirts to be printed of all British participants with the name on the back.

The parade on Alii drive was well attended and we ended up at the expo, only 800 meters further.

We then made our way to a Mexican restaurant and has way too much food... It was great to have the entire BRAT team there... and contrary to most other Ironmans where we try to get the group together this time it was completely hassle free.
